Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo is introducing Love Bites, a Valentine’s Day fundraiser designed to turn humor, closure, and a little petty energy into meaningful support for animal care and wildlife conservation.

For $25, guests 18 and older can symbolically name a rat after a “not-so-special someone.” That rat is then used as enrichment for one of the zoo’s animals, and participants receive a personalized video of the feeding while knowing their contribution supports conservation efforts at the zoo.

As part of the experience, the rat is delivered into the habitat via drone, creating a unique and visually engaging enrichment moment that is captured in each participant’s personalized video.

Love Bites provides a lighthearted Valentine’s alternative that connects people directly to the animals they are helping in a way that is both memorable and meaningful.

Rats are a natural part of many species’ diets and are regularly used as enrichment to encourage natural behaviors such as hunting, activity, and problem-solving. Through Love Bites, this normal enrichment process becomes a shareable experience for participants while maintaining the highest standards of animal care.

Every Love Bites contribution helps support daily animal care and enrichment, habitat maintenance and improvements, conservation education and outreach, and wildlife awareness and protection efforts.

Participants complete a simple online checkout, optionally provide a first name or nickname, and receive a confirmation email. Within a few days, they receive a personalized Love Bites feeding video they can share while knowing their participation helped wildlife.

Love Bites is available for a limited time leading up to Valentine’s Day at Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo.
