This beautiful parrot is famous for the bright colors of its feathers; they are very identifiable by the red, yellow, green and blue colors they exhibit. These colors are not only only for looks, though— they help the bird camouflage with  leaves, fruits and other natural aspects of the rainforest.

The scarlet macaw is found in southern Mexico, Central America, and South America and live high up in the canopy layer of trees. Since it is designed to crush nuts and seeds, the beak of a macaw is large and powerful. It is so strong it can crush a whole Brazilian nut with ease!
